Early Life and Education

Sheikh Dr. Bahauddeen Muhammed Nadwi was born on April 22, 1951, in the village of Kooriyad, near Kottakkal in the Malappuram district of Kerala, India. Raised in a family renowned for its deep-rooted tradition of Islamic scholarship, Dr. Nadwi’s journey towards scholarly excellence began at a young age. His early education was shaped by the guidance of his grandfather, followed by formal schooling in regional institutions. Dr. Nadwi’s thirst for knowledge led him to pursue higher education at prestigious institutions, including Jamia Nooriyya Arabiyya in Kerala, Darul Uloom Nadwatul Ulama in Lucknow, and Aligarh Muslim University.
