Dr. Bahauddeen Muhammed Nadwi, hailing from a traditional scholarly family in the village of Kooriyad, Malappuram district, Kerala, India, has made significant contributions to scholarly pursuits and is a prime example of Ulama activism. It is noteworthy to recognize that such activism is reflected in the lives of many distinguished shuyukh from the Shaduli spiritual tradition, such as Sheikh Muhyiddeen Abdul Qayyum (commonly known as Athippatta Moideen Kutty Musliyar or Athipatta Ustad), Sheikh Sa’d din Murad, Sheikh Abdul Qadar Easa, and others.

Dr. Nadwi, a founding figure of Darul Huda Islamic University and its Vice Chancellor since 2009, has played a pivotal role in shaping the Islamic educational system in Kerala by integrating both religious and secular education. Additionally, Dr. Nadwi has fostered academic collaborations with numerous international universities, further enhancing the global reach of Islamic scholarship. Beyond his academic work, he is a regular participant in various international academic and scholarly summits, reflecting his extensive service and profound scholarship.
